Μπήκε ο ήλιος και έλαμψε στο πρόσωπο της μέρας
Όπως γελάει στο παιδί το βλέμμα της μητέρας.

Μπήκε ο ήλιος και έλαμψε κι ο κόσμος τραγουδάει.
Μπήκε ο ήλιος κι η χαρά την πόρτα μας χτυπάει.

Μέρα καινούργια αρχινά και κάθε ήλιου αχτίδα
Φέρνει στο σπίτι μας ξανά το φως και την ελπίδα.

The sun came in and shone on to the face of day
Just as a mother’s look is laughter to a child.

The sun came in and shone, and the world is singing.
The sun came in and joy is knocking at our door.

A new day is beginning and every ray of sunshine
brings again to our house light and hope.
